About Us

WHO WE ARE
Flathead Wildlife, Inc., is a fish and wildlife sportsman group made up of men, women and youth from the Flathead area. We have been involved in conservation of wildlife and wildlife habitat for over 50 years. We are affiliated with the Montana Wildlife Federation and work to bring our voice to the state level. e Federation is a state organization made up of local sportsmen’s and sportswomen’s groups from across Montana.
GOALS & OBJECTIVES
• To protect and preserve our hunting and fishing heritage
• To promote sportsmanship, outdoor ethics and improved landowner/sportsman relations
• To work with State and Federal agencies for better wildlife and wildlife habitat management
• To promote legislation that provides for the protection and improvement of Montana’s natural resources
• To ensure outdoor recreational opportunities for the people of Montana and for future generations
• To protect and preserve our public lands
• To support public access to public lands and waters
WHAT WE STAND FOR
Flathead Wildlife strongly supports the NRA and its Hunter Safety Program. We support biologically sound management of outdoor natural resources, which include hunting and fishing on an optimum yield basis. We support the conservation of natural resources for future generations. We strongly oppose those who would take away our outdoor recreational heritage, whether by gun control, privatization of public lands or wildlife, destruction of wildlife habitat, pollution, stream degradation or any other unwise use of our natural resources.
WHAT WE DO
• Work with agencies and organizations supporting clean water in the Flathead
• Support purchase or lease of lands for wildlife habitat
• Support and monitor MT Fish, Wildlife & Parks
• Oppose privatization of wildlife
• Construct, install and maintain waterfowl nesting platforms and boxes
• Sell bluebird houses to provide funds for wildlife issues
• Assist MT Fish, Wildlife & Parks to provide handicap access at recreation sites
• Publish a monthly newsletter
